Dear Readers, in this article, we want to show that “The Book of Enoch” also testifies in the same way as the rest of the Word of God that the Lord Jesus is God.
On April 23 2015, when Rafał was alone running the blog, he published the article “The Book of Enoch – BANNED Holy Book” (not translated into English yet but You can check this amazing Book HERE – CLICK HERE) in which he officially recognized it as the Word of God and shared her with the Readers.
Of course we share this position – if it was different, we would not certainly join him.
It is the turn to just on the basis of the testimony that God has given us through Enoch – to show the magnificence of our God, who alone saved his beloved people in a heroic mission.
It is indisputable for us that Enoch shows what the whole Word of God is – that the Savior, the Son of God, is God – The Creator ONE with His Father – the Spirit.
For the purposes of English translation of this article, let us recall the most important matters regarding The Book of Enoch.
There are three versions of the Book of Enoch: Ethiopian, Sinai and Hebrew. Their message is very different.
Ten fragments of The Book of Enoch (Ethiopian) have been found at Qumran in the Dead Sea Scrolls, it is known to have existed in its present form since at least the 2nd Century BC. The Apostle Jude in his Apostolic letter quotes from Ethiopian version, and therefore we consider this version to be inspired by God.
Let’s see what Judah testifies to us by referring directly to beginning of The Book of Enoch (Judah 1:14-15):
“And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied of these, saying, “Behold, the Lord cometh with ten thousands of his saints, To execute judgment upon all, and to convince all that are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have ungodly committed, and of all their hard speeches which ungodly sinners have spoken against him.” ” Judah 1:14-15 (KJV Bible)
Note that the Apostle Juda not only quotes part of The Book of Enoch but … proves that Enoch was evidently a PROPHET! If we have such a RELIGIOUS testimony about Enoch and his Book, what “miracle” was it NOT considered inspired and thus not found in the canon of the Bible?
Would the holy Apostle use the Book that would not be inspired by God?
The Coptic Orthodox Church was the only one who included it in its canon of the Holy Bible as inspired.
Why did not the Catholic Church, the splits of Protestantism and other religious organizations accept this book?
When he gets acquainted with the Enoch testimony he wrote down, it is not difficult to answer this question, because he explains a lot about the angel’s rebellion, the creation of the world – and prophecies that are closely related to the rest of the Word of God that we have contained in the Bible.
Let’s move on after this brief introduction to the subject of this article.
The Book of Enoch confirms Jesus is God!
Let’s start then.
The first chapter of the Book of Enoch shows that Jesus is God!
“1. The word of the blessing of Enoch, how he blessed the elect and the righteous, who were to exist in the time of trouble; rejecting all the wicked and ungodly. Enoch, a righteous man, who was with God, answered and spoke, while his eyes were open, and while he saw a holy vision in the heavens. This the angels showed me.
2. From them I heard all things, and understood what I saw; that which will not take place in this generation, but in a generation which is to succeed at a distant period, on account of the elect.
3. Upon their account I spoke and conversed with him, who will go forth from hishabitation, the Holy and Mighty One, the God of the world:
4. Who will hereafter tread upon Mount Sinai; appear with his hosts; and be manifested inthe strength of his power from heaven.
5. All shall be afraid, and the Watchers be terrified.
6. Great fear and trembling shall seize them, even to the ends of the earth. The lofty mountains shall be troubled, and the exalted hills depressed, melting like a honeycomb in the flame. The earth shall be immerged, and all things which are in it perish; while judgment shall come upon all, even upon all the righteous:
7. But to them shall he give peace: he shall preserve the elect, and towards them exercise clemency.
8. Then shall all belong to God; be happy and blessed; and the splendour of the Godhead shall illuminate them.
9. Behold, he comes with ten thousands of his saints, to execute judgment upon them, and destroy the wicked, and reprove all the carnal for everything which the sinful and ungodly have done, and committed against him.”
A beautiful testimony that in several “elements” shows that it is Jesus, whom we know from the testimony of the disciples chosen by him, and the Old Testament Word of God – this is the Holy and the Great.
And what evidence do we have for this?
“Behold, he comes with ten thousands of his saints, to execute judgment upon them, and destroy the wicked, and reprove all the carnal for everything which the sinful and ungodly have done, and committed against him”
Holy, Great and Eternal God comes to make a judgment.
If we acknowledge the Word of God which the Apostles testify, it is ONLY Jesus who is the Holy God who will make the judgment.
However, God can not be God Father ONLY because then the testimony of Enoch would be in contradiction not only with the Apostolic testimony but above all with the WORDS of the Savior:
“For the Father judgeth no man, but has committed all judgment unto the Son: That all men should honour the Son, even as they honour the Father. He that honoureth not the Son honoureth not the Father which has sent him.” Gospel of John 5:22-23
These words of our Savior already show that Enoch just testifies about Him at the very beginning of the Book!
Let us also pay attention to the very important testimony that the Savior also shows with His WORDS that if someone does not worship the Son, he does not give it to the Father.
And the most remarkable thing is that the Savior precisely specified which part should be given to Him – “as it is given to the Father”.
And who is His Father …?
THE G O D !
So he also needs to honor him AS GOD.
And this clearly shows the UNITY of the Father and the Son, which the Word of God testifies, because the Son must also be THE GOD.
There is no other possibility because “Whoever does not worship the Son does not worship the Father who sent him.”
This dependence of HONOURS FOR GOD also splendidly depict the WORDS of the Savior when he says:
“Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: NO MAN comes unto the Father, BUT BY ME. If you had known me, you should have known my Father also: and from henceforth you know him, and have seen him.” Gospel of John 14:6-7
These two wonderful testimonies testify to the same: Jesus, the Son is God and only by worshiping Him due to God – we can HONOUR and Worship THE ONE God who reveals himself in the UNITY of his Son and Father.
It should be noted that the Savior in His WORDS emphasizes the direction in which we can only reach God and give him due honor.
The direction is clearly defined that it starts ONLY from Him. And in Him just only we can glorify God, whose Majesty is revealed in the UNITY of his Son and Father.
These two statements of the Savior Himself show that EVERYONE who forsakes HONOUR and Giving up reverence to the DIVINE Son does not worship God the Spirit.
His WORDS also contradict that only the Father can be worshiped.
It is necessary to face the truth – if you worship ONLY of the Father, then you SKIP of the Son.
Let’s get back to our Judge – Saint and Great.
In the further part of the already mentioned statement in the Gospel of John, he confirms that he is the Judge and there is no other than Him:
“For as the Father has life in himself; so has he given to the Son to have life in himself; And has given him authority to execute judgment also, because he is the Son of man.” Gospel of John 5:26-27
Of course, the evidence from the Word of God does not need to be presented, that ONLY God is the Judge of the whole earth because world belongs to him and what is interesting … he emphasizes so many times that his Adjectives (in which he is the Power of the Court) will not give away to anyone.
The Judge’s testimony is UNANIMOUS and the Savior Himself explains it in His WORDS.
And the most interesting is that there is NO testimony from the Word of God that would say that whenever the authority of the Judgment, the Son would give back to the Father!
For believers in THE TRUTH included in the Word of God, this is NOT a problem because this is the UNITY of the Father and Son, which means that what the Son has and the Father has and the “apparent separation” of attributes serves us so that we can get to know God closer and then the ONLY God “begot” His Son in the human body on earth as the REFLECTION of His Divine Spirituality – for God the Father is the Spirit.
In the discussed beginning of The Book of Henoch, we still have some very important elements regarding the Holy God who is JUDGE.
On the presented evidence from other testimonies of the Word of God, we can clearly say that it is Jesus Christ.
Henoch gives us quite important “elements” that will accompany the arrival of the Holy Judge.
And they are:
* Eternal God, The Judge will come in the company of His host and saints.
* Holy and Great God will reveal himself in the power of his power.
* During the coming of the Eternal God there will be unprecedented phenomena – or rather you can say cataclysms that have never happened before!
* The Holy and the Great God, by his coming, will scare the inhabitants of the earth and the Watchers (angels – fallen)
Do other testimonies of the Word of God also indicate these circumstances for the coming of the Judge – the Savior – Jesus?
Of course!
And in addition, they come from the mouth of our Savior:
“For as the lightning comes out of the east, and is seen even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. For wheresoever the carcase is, there will the eagles be gathered together. Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken: And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.” Gospel of Matthew 24:27-31
Dear Readers, we have an almost identical testimony that Enoch proclaims about the coming of GOD!
The Savior in His WORDS testifies that he will fulfill all the conditions which the great men of God proclaimed for the second coming of God:
- during the coming there will be unprecedented phenomena like supernatural cataclysms
- He, Jesus, testifies that he will come with great power and glory!
- The Savior also gives us to understand that he will come with his angels, whom he will send to gather their chosen ones
- The Savior gives testimony that peoples will complain when he comes again, which is not a sign of joy but opposite!
It is very important that the Savior spoke of His coming to His disciples. He knew perfectly well that the His Gospel would be broadcast on them, in which the teachings of future generations should also be absent. It was them who chose them to believe in Him and He was sure that their efforts would not be in vain!
And let’s see – Apostle Matthew gives us this wonderful prophecy which clearly shows that Jesus is just that Holy God, the Great who is the Judge!
It is not all that the Savior-God has left to future generations as proof of His divine UNITY with the Father!
Through the second disciple, John, we can again hear that the Savior is the God who will come to Judge.
Our Savior gave His beloved disciple a great vision:
“And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he JUDGE and make war. His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that NO MAN knew, but he himself. And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God. And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean. And out of his mouth proceeds a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treads the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God. And he has on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.” Revelation 19:11-16
Does any of you, dear, have any doubts about the coherence of the testimony with the beginning of Henoch or the previously discussed Savior Words?
Of course, they do not contain all the same details but you can not accuse a contradiction in any case because:
- we have a testimony that Jesus comes with a host of angels
- we have a testimony of the great glory and majesty of Jesus because it is called titles belonging to God Himself – King of kings and Lord of Masters! (what we’ll do next, of course)
- well, we can not forget that Sitting on a horse is … JUDGE!
In the situation of another amazing, blunt and detailed description of the coming of God – in which the Savior Himself reveals himself – one should recognize that the testimony of The Book of Enoch testifies, like other Scriptures, that the Savior, Christ is God.
But in this testimony, which John wrote down, there is still a very important detail which also shows that the Savior is God.
It’s God’s Word:
” he had a name written, that NO MAN knew, but he himself.”
The Holy Apostle John testified that the Savior sitting on a white horse has a name written, which He KNOWS ONLY. No one else.
This is also irrefutable proof that he is God because if he would not be God and there would be some other god, it would be absurd if God did not know everything …
Of course, believing in the TRUTH, which God’s Word reveals to us of the UNITY of the Son and the Father, there is no problem to understand that.
However, if it is believed that ONLY God the Father is God and the Savior is not – it would be necessary to re-book The Book of Revelation as the opposite to his beliefs only in God as the Father.
And it is not possible to explain it in a logical and wise way – because you do not have to mention it based on the whole Word of God …
We would like to present to you other testimonies of the prophets which show that the Savior MUST be the God who comes to Judge.
“Let the nations be wakened, and come up to the valley of Jehoshaphat: for there will I sit to judge all the nations round about. Put you in the sickle, for the harvest is ripe: come, get you down; for the press is full, the fats overflow; for their wickedness is great. Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision: for the day of the LORD is near in the valley of decision. The sun and the moon shall be darkened, and the stars shall withdraw their shining. The LORD also shall roar out of Zion, and utter his voice from Jerusalem; and the heavens and the earth shall shake: but the LORD will be the hope of his people, and the strength of the children of Israel. So shall you know that I am the LORD your God dwelling in Zion, my holy mountain: then shall Jerusalem be holy, and there shall no strangers pass through her any more.” Joel 3:12-17
Through the whole testimony of the Word of God TRUE, God’s worshipers know that the Savior is the LORD, our God and the JUDGE who lives in Zion!
“And I will show wonders in the heavens and in the earth, blood, and fire, and pillars of smoke. The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and the terrible day of the LORD come.” Joel 2:30-31
.
“Fear, and the pit, and the snare, are upon thee, O inhabitant of the earth. And it shall come to pass, that he who flees from the noise of the fear shall fall into the pit; and he that comes up out of the midst of the pit shall be taken in the snare: for the windows from on high are open, and the foundations of the earth do shake. The earth is utterly broken down, the earth is clean dissolved, the earth is moved exceedingly. The earth shall reel to and fro like a drunkard, and shall be removed like a cottage; and the transgression thereof shall be heavy upon it; and it shall fall, and not rise again. And it shall come to pass in that day, that the LORD shall punish the host of the high ones that are on high, and the kings of the earth upon the earth. And they shall be gathered together, as prisoners are gathered in the pit, and shall be shut up in the prison, and after many days shall they be visited. Then the moon shall be confounded, and the sun ashamed, when the LORD of hosts shall reign in mount Zion, and in Jerusalem, and before his ancients GLORIOUSLY.” Isaiah 24:17-23
.
“Behold, the name of the LORD comes from far, burning with his anger, and the burden thereof is heavy: his lips are full of indignation, and his tongue as a devouring fire: And his breath, as an overflowing stream, shall reach to the midst of the neck, to sift the nations with the sieve of vanity: and there shall be a bridle in the jaws of the people, causing them to err. You shall have a song, as in the night when a holy solemnity is kept; and gladness of heart, as when one goes with a pipe to come into the mountain of the LORD, to the mighty One of Israel. And the LORD shall cause his glorious voice to be heard, and shall show the lighting down of his arm, with the indignation of his anger, and with the flame of a devouring fire, with scattering, and tempest, and hailstones.” Isaiah 30:27-30
As we can see, the very beginning of The Book of Enoch is an amazing testimony, how consistent with the rest of the Word of God.
Words that MANIFESTLY testifies in its splendor that the One who saved us is – THE GOD.
Exactly with the God who will judge us and before whom everyone will have to bend their knees and give Him due respect to God.
We are already doing this with a great love and joy of thanksgiving for His wonderful gift of salvation, which He made with his own blood.
And do you thank Your Savior by giving due honor to Him?
